I’ve just added a new (old) plugin to this site along with a release of a new version. WP S3 Backups allows for quiet, automated backups to be performed from your WordPress site to Amazon’s S3 platform. It costs next to nothing to keep a secure off-site backup of your blog’s files (15 cents for one gigabyte).
Flickr Gallery 1.3

The newest version of Flickr Gallery adds two important things that people have asked for. They wanted to show collections and they wanted to be able to choose which tabs to show. To enable the collections tab, just go into your Flickr Gallery settings page and select it from the list of tabs. For now, it’s a very simple piece of functionality. Clicking on the collection name or icon will take your visitors to the Flickr page for the collection. I haven’t made this very complex for now, because there is no telling how deep a collection would go, and my UI options are fairly limited when working on a WordPress page or post.
Caching in Flickr Gallery (1.2.9 release)

Plugin Update Notification 0.1.3

I’ve just pushed out version 0.1.3 of Plugin Update Notification. I realized that the plugin did not work with a change that had been made in WordPress 2.8. This new version should work just fine.
Collections in Flickr Gallery

Several people have asked me if it is possible to display collections in a tab, as opposed to sets. Flickr just recently opened up their Collections API, so hopefully, that will be coming soon. I am closing on a house this week, so my time is going to be limited, but I want to get that out to you as soon as possible.
Flickr Gallery 1.2

Flickr Gallery 1.2 is now available from the WordPress download page (or through your blog’s plugin installer). Pagination is now supported for all galleries to let your users browse through your photos without having to leave your blog.
New features in version 1.2:
- All images you insert in your posts that are smaller than “medium” sized will open in the lightbox (if you have it enabled). From there, the user can decide to continue to Flickr’s site if they so choose. This includes the “square”, “thumbnail” and “small” sizes.
- All photo galleries should now have pagination enabled. If you have caching enabled, the pagination will load as much photo data as possible from the Flickr API and step through those results to save the end user’s time. If you don’t have caching, it will load the photos you need as soon as the user requests them.

You can leave a comment here or send me an email on my contact form. Including your browser version (whether it works or not) will be very helpful.
If you’d like to test this out on your own site, you can download the development version and install it on your blog. For now, you can only use the pagination in the tabbed [flickr-gallery] mode, but I’ll be adding it to the other gallery modes too. Bear in mind that there can always be problems when using a bleeding version, so check things out once you install it. Again, leaving me feedback is extremely helpful.

Plugin Update Notification 0.1

I am pleased to announce that I finally got around to releasing this particular plugin. It will notify (and even nag) you about updating plugins in your WordPress install. Every day, you’ll get a single email if (and only if) there are plugins that need to be updated. For me, this is going to be very handy for other blogs that I administer but don’t visit the control panel every day (like my mom’s blog).
Flickr Gallery 1.1

With this new release of Flickr Gallery, the Lightbox functionality should work a little better. It should be loading properly for every built-in gallery mode, including custom searches. The process for adding an authentication token has been improved as well. The biggest new feature is a newly Ajaxified settings panel. Saving the settings through Ajax allows full WordPress MU support.
New features in version 1.1:
- Lightbox set up for all Flickr galleries without interfering with each other.
- WordPress MU support.
Update 1.1.2: Fixed some small bugs that were stopping people from using the plugin at all. Most people will see no change.
